The origins
A Road-Trip in the United States
From the moment we met, it was obvious that the journey brought us closer : Victor has lived most of his life around the world and I have always had a desire for of discoveries and encounters .
Our first big adventure together took place on the West Coast from the United States . In August 2018, we spent three weeks there: we took the road for 22 days , crossed 10 states , traveled over 8,600 kms and seen magnificent landscapes, that we could never have imagined, even in our sweetest dreams.
On the way back, we were more than convinced: we needed more. The idea of a world tour , which was already well anchored in Victor's mind, finally emerged. in turn in mine. From then on, this idea has never left us.

Our itinerary
Planning our route was the most anticipated part of our preparation (well for me) but not the easiest. Indeed, we faced the famous saying of André Gide "to choose is to give up ". We also realized that casually a year goes by quickly and that if we didn't want to run everywhere (and live another year in Paris), we had better avoid certain regions of the world or continents .
Finally, our itinerary remains ambitious ( 39 countries in one year). However, the current health situation will take care of making certain choices for us: some countries are not accessible to tourists (which will probably still be the case when we arrive), others require confinements of ten or more. about two weeks. We will avoid these countries and we will adapt along the way! Because adaptation is also part of our adventure !
The image below was produced with the help of the counter-sense planner , an essential tool that helped us a lot in the planning of our project.
